Chinese Literature Department has been established for more than 60 years, the aim of Chinese Literature Department is not only combining research, criticism and creation, but also the classical and modern theories to form the excellent quality learning environment. The teaching and research features of this department are as follows:1. A variety of coursesChinese Literature courses are divided into: Linguistics and Philology, Study of Confucian classics and Thoughts, Classic literature, Modern literature and Applied literature. Besides the classic criticism, also to intensify the modernization and the applications of literature for develop. In addition, the "Applied Philosophy course" and "the Drama Course", also help students to learn variety.2. Application of deep and extensive variety of researchesΙ. In 2008, Journal of Chinese Literature of NCKU has been elected as THCI Core journal.Π. Interaction and developing academic network between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU), National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Dong Hwa University (NDHU).Ш. Long-term International symposium and Academic Forum, invited eminent scholars to serve as visiting professors or school lectures, to Improve the kinetic energy of research.3. Encouraging Creative ideasΙ. The department holds annual "Phoenix Tree Literature Award", so far has had 45 sessions, the "Phoenix Drama Festival ", held every two years, so far it has had 25 sessions. In addition, we publish Wen Xin (Collected works of NCKU Students) and Yun Han Xue Kan (Journal of Chinese Literature Department) to reflect the creative training and achievement of our students.Π. We hold the "Phoenix Tree Literature Award", "Phoenix Drama Festival", "Su Xue Lin’s Cultural Foundation Lectures”, “Book Day”, “Literature Camp" and so on.
