Mechanical Engineering is one of the broadest engineering professions. Traditionally, it deals with the design, construction and operation of various types of machinery for energy conversion and material transport. Today, the field of mechanical engineering is revolutionized with the expansion of cutting-edge technologies such as micro-and-nanotechnology, mechatronics, precision machinery, biotechnology, computer mechanics, and intellectual manufacturing, to name a few. As one of the oldest and the most renowned mechanical engineering institutes in Taiwan, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NCKU prides itself on equipping the students with fundamental science knowledge, abilities of applying to practical engineering problems, and creativity for continuous innovations. In this vibrant environment our students find themselves inundated with exciting career opportunities throughout Taiwan, as well as worldwide.
