In order to cope with the ever-changing world situation and increasingly severe international competition and to enhance the core capabilities of enterprises and cultivate management talents, College of Management (hereinafter referred to as the College) at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) established the “Doctor of Business Administration” (DBA) program in 2021, with the first enrollment in September 2022. The DBA program is the third program under the College after the establishment of the EMBA program in 1989 and that of the AMBA program in 1996. It aims to provide a study platform for industry talents who are highly motivated, eager to pursue advanced skills for strategic thinking and decision making, ambitious to solve increasingly complex practical problems, and enthusiastic to drive business/industrial development. Different from Ph.D. programs in Business Administration which focus mainly on academic research and contributions, the DBA program emphasizes research that applies theories to solving practical issues, intends to cultivate students to become industry elites and industry lecturers with teaching and research qualifications, and plans to establish a communication channel between academia and Taiwan’s industry.
