Gesture Recognition Applied for the Development of Elevator Control

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Elevator operator interface is considered a potential source of infection and may be one of the ways leading to contagious, because of its high usage rate in contact the main intent is to improve existing elevator contact operate interface, by importing Real-time video processing Gesture Recognition, setting the embedded platform in the system and designing Human-Computer interface to develop and evaluate the system .This project will develop the non-contact interface, according to the research for needs of the user in elevator interface. This system will use the commands sent to an embedded system platform to control the elevator. This program a total of two year, as follows: (1)Planning the system of non-contact elevator control by analyzing of the relevant theory and user interface requirements.(2)Applying the universal design principle to define the type of operate gesture and find out a way could distinguish between the meaning of the gesture effectively. (3)Development of embedded real-time image processing gesture recognition system with low-complexity operations.(4) Building and simulating verification the control system on embedded platform. Final, this project's non-contact elevator control system will complete by its service interface usability testing, evaluation and revision. The Initial results of this project will participate in the design competition, Papers published at home and abroad; The final results will involve in Motor-related areas and apply practical development system in following year.
