In 2020, the Construction Planning Agency, Ministry of Interior proposed the Taiwan Urban Green Roadways (TUGR) Rating System to systematically evaluate urban roadway projects' sustainability. The system includes 25 sustainability indicators in seven categories: ecology, materials and energy resources, waste and pollution, livability, community and humanities, economy, and innovations. This study aims to understand the readiness the state of the practice of urban roadway projects in design and construction. The study adopted the case analysis method to analyze nine urban roadway projects with different project scales. It evaluated the score of TURG according to the extent to which the contractual requirements of each case achieve the TURG sustainability indicators. After analyzing the degree of achievement of various indicators of TURG and the correlation between indicators and contract documents, the study then put forward suggestions for improving the preparation level of TURG sustainability indicators.
