Abstract

In order to solve the inconvenience of traditional metal flood gates installation and realize the effect of flood control, this study developed a new set of flood control equipment with plastic curtains readily available on the market and customized molds, and named it "Flexible Flood Control Screen". The advantages of this equipment are: easy and fast installation, and the installation can be completed by one person. In order to ensure the flood control effect of the flood control screen and observe the mechanical behavior of the curtain under the lateral water pressure of the flood, this study plans a series of experiments for the flood control screen, such as: static water pressure, impact, and creep experiment. The test data is compared with the analysis data of the finite element model to verify the reliability of the data obtained by computer simulation. In response to different flood control needs in the future, computer model can accurately predict the deformation and stress distribution of the screen
