Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore factors which have effects on the democratic value of the Taiwanese people. According to the authors' definition, ”democratic value” means the people's perception as to which degree the nation's current political situation belongs. This paper concludes that political trust, satisfaction with the current incumbent, political generation, political knowledge, and satisfaction with the economy can affect the democratic values of the Taiwanese people. First of all, if a person's political trust is higher, his democratic value tends to be higher. Secondly, if a person is more satisfied with the current incumbent, his democratic value tends to be higher. Thirdly, if the people belong to the second or third political generation, then their democratic values are higher than those who belong to the first political generation. Furthermore, if people belong to the latest political generation, their democratic values are the highest. Fourthly, if a person's political knowledge is higher, his democratic value tends to be higher. Finally, if a person is more satisfied with economy, his democratic value tends to be higher.
