Abstract
Following the policy of national renewable energy, Taiwanese government aims to collect marine environmental survey data for offshore wind planning, construction, and risk assessment. This study has constructed the environmental database and analyzed the environmental data for offshore wind farm development under the Infrastructure Program of Offshore Wind Farm Zonal Development Project funded by Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan. The environmental database includes the four sub-database, which are the geophysical database, the geotechnical database, the marine ecological database, and the wind energy database. To construct the environmental database, table schema of the marine geophysical data including multi-channel seismic data, sub-bottom profiler data, and multi-beam sonar data, are defined in the Geographic Information System (GIS). Then results from geotechnical and ecological (conducted by MOST, Taiwan) analyses are integrated. Finally, all the data and results are presented through an information platform. This study firstly apply seismically derived stratigraphic and structural settings that are controlled by well data, as the geological objects for the initial model. Then boundary conditions of the model are defined and 3D geometries of the geological objects are modeled. Finally, the built 3D geological model is visualized and our results are ready to be utilized for users from various background, which may speed up offshore wind development in Taiwan.
