Abstract

A 60-GHz GIPD unbalanced-fed bandpass-filtering Yagi antenna fabricated with tMt GIPD technology is presented in this paper. A on-chip Yagi antenna and a quarter-wavelength resonator are integrated to form a filtering antenna. The filtering characteristics can be observed by the distribution of antenna power gains versus frequencies. The transmission zeros are located at 42 GHz and 72 GHz, respectively. The Glass substrate with low loss tangent provides high radiation efficiency and good power-gain for the on-chip antenna. The radiation efficiency is 47% and the measured radiation power gain is 2.4 dBi in the +Z direction at 60GHz. The core size is 1.335 mm × 1.620 mm.
