A Clifford algebra formulation of Navier-Cauchy equation

Abstract

The three-dimensional (3D) displacement field in elastic body subjected to body force usually governed by the Navier-Cauchy equation is here formulated in the language of Clifford valued functions and the Dirac operator. Using Clifford analysis and considering arbitrary body force, we solve the problem, expressing the displacement field in terms of one harmonic function and one monogenic function.
