A crosstalk-less high efficiency light valve in LCoS

Abstract

In conventional LCoS light valve, there are serve poor contrast ratio and low light efficiency problems. We have developed LC mode with finger-on-plane (FOP) type common electrodes fabricated in a LCoS light valve to overcome above problems. The effects of various factors on the electro-optical characteristics have been simulated. The reflectance of LCoS light valve can reach above 80% even for the worst case in frame and column inversion driving scheme. Our simulation results exhibit low dispersion in single cell configuration.
