Abstract

Key management is one of the promising research topics on the security of wireless sensor networks (WSN) because the communication overhead between the sensor nodes will largely affect the performance of WSN in terms of not only the security issue but also the life time. This paper presents an extension of standard random key pre-distribution (RKP) scheme that can be applied to arbitrary dense wireless sensor networks. Moreover, the threshold property of multi-path key connectivity in a RKP network is analyzed. Our simulation results show that the proposed solution can provide a good approximation of the empirical probability.
