Abstract

The en route monitor system (ERMS), which is a software system designed to assist human controllers, is developed as a useful tool for the control center. For extending the capability, this system is designed using a knowledge-based system, and is implemented in Turbo Prolog. The problem and solution techniques are discussed in detail and examples and simulations are demonstrated to show the potential application of the proposed ERMS in air traffic control.
