Abstract

This paper presents a low-complexity scaling scheme which used for barrel distortion correction. Nowadays, the wide-angle cameras are widely used in surveillance and medical imaging applications. Images captured by wide-angle lens suffer from barrel distortion which means that the outer regions of the image are compressed more than the inner ones. Besides, due to the resolution of an image differs from the screen resolution of a target display, the scaling technique also becomes an indispensable issue. Hence, a low-complexity scaling scheme for barrel distortion correction which adopts the radial symmetric characteristic is presented in this paper.
