This paper presents a new algorithm based on the Newton-Raphson method with sensitivity factors incorporated to solve real-time emission dispatch. In the economic-emission dispatch approaches, the penalty factor and the incremental losses are always the key points in solution techniques. In this paper, the Jacobian matrix and the B-coefficients have been developed in terms of the generalized generation shift distribution (GGSD) factor, and the solution of emission dispatch can be obtained by an iteration method. Comparing with the results of the conventional method, the proposed method has the same numerical accuracy and very short execution time in demonstration examples, hence, is suitable for emission dispatch in real-time applications.
