Abstract

A video presentation on a novel approach for the development of brushless motor drives was discussed. The video showed an open-loop control technique capable of being developed into a universal drive suitable for various types of motors. The sample control applications presented in the video included point-to-point position control of a brushless dc motor; a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM); the micro-stepping control of a PMSM; and position control of a linear induction motor.
