A novel data structure for adversarial VNet embeddings attack in cloud

Abstract

Prior work by Pignolet et al. shows a new attacking methodology with which the attackers can disclose the whole cloud topology while deploying virtual networks in cloud, named 'Topology Disclosure Attack'. However, we discover some unreasonable attack assumptions in their model and this paper tries to develop a data structure, Query-Trie, providing topology disclosure attack a useful attack instruction. This new data structure not only enumerates all possible VNet request systematically but also provides efficient attack guideline. Hence, this Query Trie enables much more possible attack model in cloud in the future.
