Abstract

We have developed a new technology with wide-viewing angle and high light efficiency. The new technology named continuous domain inverse TN (CDITN) performs a perfect dark state due to the initially vertical alignment. When the voltage is applied, all the areas except one small singular point in the middle of the pixel have very high transmittance. For the circular symmetry, we overcome the gray scale inversion problem. And with the application of compensation film to decrease the light leakage in the dark state, we can have a wide-viewing angle display.
