Abstract

In this work, a novel wiimote localization scheme is proposed based on kinematics and coordinate transformation. By integrating the scheme with a controllable IR-LED array, it is possible to interpret the absolute coordinate and orientation of mobile carriers even under the influence of passing through possible shelters such as furniture. The scheme is experimentally verified by using a servomotor. Finally, the scheme is applied on an omni-wheel mobile robot for trajectory control to demonstrate the possible application of this wiimote localization scheme in indoor living space applications.
