Abstract

We propose the concept of a profiling guided optimization scheme to boost the performance of quantum simulations. The key idea of the proposed scheme is that a quantum simulator is used to collect the quantum-wise information during the simulations, and the collected profiling data are fed to a quantum compiler to guide the generation of a more efficient quantum code version achieving higher simulation speed. Our result shows our proposed scheme achieves a speed-up by a factor of 1.36 when simulating a 28-bit quantum circuit.
