Absorption kinetics of SO 2 and NO in simulated flue gas by Fe(II)EDTA solutions

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

The reaction kinetics of individual and simultaneous absorption SO 2 and NO by aqueous solutions of Fe(II)EDTA were investigated. Experiments were carried out to evaluate the effects of operating parameters on the absorption rate, the reaction kinetics of the reactants in both gas and liquid phases, and the effects of competitions between various reactants on the mass transfer rate, in a simple SO x removal and combined SO x/NO x removal system, respectively. The experimental results indicate a specified average reaction rate constant. NaOH addition did not increase the absorption ability of Fe(II)EDTA. SO increased the absorption rate of NO, but NO only slightly raised the absorption rate of SO.
