Abstract
The ac magnetic susceptibility χ(T) of quality melt-textured YBa2Cu3O7-δ has been determined as a function of temperature at different frequencies in the presence of a constant dc magnetic field of a few tesla superimposed on an ac-excited magnetic field varying between 0.0025 and 16 Oe. Steps were developed and used to extract meaningful resistivity data ρ as a function of temperature. We found that the ρ(T) so obtained is frequency independent within our experimental range, which is consistent with previous suggestions. Comparison of our ρ(T) measurements with theoretical predictions appears to favor the vortex-glass model, although there remain some outstanding questions.
