Abstract
The Alabama Microelectronics Science and Technology Center (AMSTC) was formed at Auburn University in 1984. The AMSTC is an interdisciplinary center formed to explore new materials, devices, circuits, computer-aided design, processes and reliability in microelectronics. The facility, which supports a wide range of teaching and research in microelectronics, contains equipment for the design, fabrication and analysis of both monolithic and hybrid integrated circuits. The laboratory is staffed by a full-time laboratory manager with experience in integrated-circuit fabrication techniques, as well as two full-time laboratory assistants. Research activities are conducted by faculty members with extensive academic or industrial research backgrounds.
