Abstract

Experimental study was conducted to investigate the deflagration-to- detonation run-up distance. The tube diameter and equivalence ratio of mixture are the dominant parameters for the fuel lean, stoichiometric, and fuel rich mixtures. The amplification factor associated with the characteristic property of the reactant mixture could be correlated to the run-up distance reasonably well.
