Abstract

In the mutually coupled Nd:YV O4 laser system with cavity-configuration- dependent instability, amplitude death was observed when the frequencies of the relaxation oscillation of the lasers were close to each other. Under asymmetrical coupling, the system followed a route via semiamplitude death to amplitude death. Simulation results support the existence of amplitude death in mutually coupled solid-state lasers with cavity-configuration-dependent instability.
