An immunoassay using platinum nanoparticles, silver enhancement and a electrodes chips

Abstract

This paper reports a novel immunoassay using an electro-microchip to detect the immuno-reaction signal and the silver enhancement reaction to magnify the detection signal. Moreover, platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) play the roles of a label for antigen or antibody and a catalyst for silver precipitation. The change of the impedance to corroborate immuno-reaction is detected, amplified and analyzed. The developed method shows that a chip with a 50 μm length 150 μm electrodes gap size has the highest sensitivity. Therefore, using an electro-microchip, antibody-PtNPs conjugates and a silver enhancement reaction, a new immunoassay is successfully constructed.
