Abstract

Designing a power factor correct (PFC) converter for airborne applications (400Hz) requires some consideration and challenge compared to a ground 50/60Hz system. To comply with 50/60Hz and 400Hz applications,PFC choke inductor design needs to select the appropriate material core and inductance. Commonly used PFC control methods are peak current control, hysteresis mode control and average current mode PWM control, etc.,it is necessary to choose the appropriate control method and inductor current type. This study designed a PFC circuit that meets the 50Hz/60Hz line frequency and 400Hz aircraft frequency. That is,it meets the requirements of current harmonic and power factor of EN61000-3-2 class D and RTCA DO-160G for aircraft.
