Analysis of air-core terahertz waveguides

Abstract

Air-core THz waveguides formed by variant rings of Teflon tubes are analyzed by the finite-difference frequency-domain method. The guiding mechanism is found to be that of the antiresonant reflecting optical waveguide. The influence of the inner thin film on the properties of these waveguides is also discussed.
