Abstract
Zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) and zero-current-switching (ZCS) techniques are well-known techniques to undergo the power switch to be turned "on" or "off" in a soft-switching state. Resonance is the best way to achieve ZVS or ZCS, which can effectively reduce switching losses and increase the converter operating frequency. In this paper, we explored the tutorial circuit simulation of the ZVS buck converter to help engineers understand design considerations before implementation without the need for "trial and error". Formulations and analytical methods were developed to establish simulations for evaluating ZVS buck converters, improving converter design and experimental success.
