Anti-windup schemes for a constrained continuous stirred tank reactor process

Abstract

The study is carried out on a jacketed continuous stirred tank reactor system subject to actuator saturation and output multiplicity, which cannot be locally stabilized by the conventional feedback linearizing controller. To ensure the stability of the closed-loop system and preserve the feasible feedback linearization framework, the control technique is composed of the modified feedback linearizing law which is derived from the specified tracking form for state regulation and the feedforward/feedback control scheme as static antiwindup control design and/or disturbance compensation. The proposed compensation strategies are based on a flexible tuning parameter, which is directly solved by an offline algebraic calculation. The output feedback control framework associated with an antiwindup scheme is also developed. Our results are illustrated by numerical simulation.
