Abstract
Three bakkenolide-type compounds, bakkenolides-G, -H and deisobutyryl bakkenolide-H were isolated from the roots of Petasites formosanus. The structures were characterized by spectral methods. Bakkenolide-G and -H showed inhibitory activity against platelet activation factor (PAF), whereas deisobutyryl bakkenolide-H and ferulic acid showed inhibitory activity against arachidonic acid (AA) and collagen (Col)-induced aggregation of washed rabbit platelets.
