Abstract

An arm-like robot with hybrid position/force control scheme incorporating fuzzy logic was developed. The robot was developed with the aim of realizing a system for neuro-rehabilitation of upper extremities. Studies showed that the robot could successfully guide a subject through linear and circular movements. The robot could also impose a constant force on the subject during the movement.
