Abstract
Organic sludge and sawdust are rich in carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous and sulfur. The heating value is higher than 4,000 kcal/kg. A pellet of drying sludge and sawdust could be the alternative fuel in a coal-fired boiler. A fundamental study of the characteristics of a sludge refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and the combustion behaviors were done. Results of analysis of derived fuel made from organic sludge showed that the ash content is less than 20% and its calorific value reached 4,000 kcal/kg. The values meet the standards for derived fuels. The analysis of combustion testing in the boiler plant that meet the emission standards when the sawdust mixed sludge than 10%.
