Abstract

The mass transport phenomenon of charged fine particles surrounding a conducting cylinder in the presence of a uniform, external electric field is examined using a technique of potential and stream function analysis recently developed by the author in a previous paper. This paper serves as an illustrative example for the application of this technique. The same method can be applied to the case where the external forces involved are irrotational and nondivergent.
