BUCKLING OF A THICK CIRCULAR PLATE.

Abstract

The buckling problems of clamped thick circular plates subjected to arbitrary loading condition is investigated. The applied stress is taken to be a combination of a pure bending stress plus an exensional stress in the plane of the plate. The previously derived governing equations are used and solved by the Galerkin method. Bending stress has the significant effect on buckling load. The effects of various parameters on the buckling loads are studied.
