Abstract

Golf is a prevalent sport globally, and information and communication technology (ICT) can significantly improve a golfer's skills while reducing the risk of injury. This paper introduces a wearable device to track waist movement during a golf swing precisely. By using IMU sensor data, the device can accurately calculate rotation angles and perform coordinate conversions to rectify any inconsistencies within the data coordinate system. Moreover, a drift compensation technique is employed to correct trajectory deviations resulting from data errors. In order to validate the proposed methodology, a test apparatus incorporating fixed motion was utilized. The wearable device successfully provides a waist rotation trajectory with an error margin of ±5 cm.
