Chemical bath deposition of ZnO and Ni doped ZnO nanorod

Abstract

The investigation explores the structural, electric and magnetic characteristics of ZnO and Ni:ZnO nanorods fabricatied via a chemical bath deposition. Vertically aligned ZnO and Ni:ZnO nanorods arrays were grown on sapphire substrate. Interestingly, SEM results reveal a variation of aspect ratio between ZnO and Ni:ZnO nanorods. XRD, XPS and XAS analyses demostrate a good incorporation of Ni dopants in ZnO nanorods. Furthermore, the ZnO nanorod/p-type Si heterojunction displayed rectifying current-voltage characteristic of a pristine p-n junction diode and light emission under forward bias.
