Abstract

This chapter discusses the coherent state path integral formalism and its usage in the functional quantum field theory. It is exactly the over-completeness properties of coherent states which make it especially useful in quantum mechanics as well as quantum field theory. To better illustrate the concepts involved, we shall focus in this chapter the case of scalar field.
