Abstract

The authors regret Because of the new Fig. 5e2,f2,g2 with higher contrast and resolution than the old ones, the authors think that the new Fig. 5e2,f2,g2 can show the clear damage of the multi-drug resistant (MDR) strain of Gram-positive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) after photoexcitation. Fig. 5e2,f2,g2 show that the treatment of MRSA with photoexcited amino-N-GQD-Abprotein A induced marked morphological damage that corresponded to nearly 100% death after 150 scans; this indicates changes in the bacterial cell wall or oxidation and signifies that the deterioration of the surrounding biological surface substrate had been induced by the generated reactive oxygen species. These changes may have caused bacterial atrophy, distortion, and morphological damage, revealing that the materials had desorbed from the bacterial surface. Results show that the amino-N-GQDs can efficiently act as favorable photosensitizer for being employed in photodynamic therapy to completely eliminate MDR bacteria. To clearly elucidate the description above, the authors want to apply the late corrigendum and replace with the new Fig. 5e2,f2,g2 that are more suitable to present the scientific results than the old ones; further, it can be more appealing to a broad audience, to conform the academic ethics and integrity. All of the authors are so sorry for the negligence in proofreading and humbly request to agree the late corrigendum after publication.[Formula presented] The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
