Abstract

Highlight • Twenty-three forchlorfenuron derivatives were evaluated for SEPT9 inhibition.• 6b, 8a, and 8b are SEPT9 inhibitors with IC50 values of 90, 99, and 94 μM, respectively.• Marked suppression of the cell migration and the invasion ability was observed with 8b treatment.• 8b effectively disrupted the structural organization of SEPT9, microtubules, and actins.
