Abstract

Renewable energy resources and technologies have enormous potential to assist developing countries in addressing their longer-term energy challenges. While renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, ocean, biomass, and fuel cell technologies may help India overcome its energy deficit, fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, and oil will continue to be required. Renewable energy is one method to meet these criteria. Renewable energy currently accounts for a significant portion of India's main energy consumption. Renewable energy sources that are environmentally responsible are increasingly being utilized in India, resulting in more sustainable results for future generations. Over the last two and a half decades, India has made a concerted effort to explore a variety of renewable energy options for different sectors. The article examines India's renewable energy resources and makes new efforts to describe their availability, current state, major achievements, and future potential. Additionally, this research examines possible legislative solutions for eliminating barriers and expediting future renewable energy adoption.
