N2 - Over the course of the past 20 years, the number of signal processing methods used to analyze the partial discharge (PD) of electrical equipments has greatly increased. In this paper, we analyze and compare the PD signals from acoustic emission (AE) and high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) measurements with Hilbert-Huang Transforms (HHT). The HHT demonstrates several excellent advantages in the PD signal analysis application.
