Abstract
The deformation behavior of an aluminum bicrystal with a symmetrical 〈112〉 tilt boundary and an initial misorientation of 8.7° was investigated. The lateral fields of the crystallographic lattice rotations and the plastic strains were jointly characterized and plastic strain distribution was determined by photogrammetry. A high degree of heterogeneity in the strain in the symmetric bicrystal was observed.
