Abstract

Ready-mixed soil material (RMSM) is a new range of soil material with properties lying between controlled low-strength material (CLSM) and soil cement. The design approach of RMSM combines the advantages of both brittle and elastic materials. The unconfined compressive strength of RMSM is 2 to 30 times of soil materials, and the flexural strength is about five to ten percent of the unconfined compressive strength. The RMSM material developed in this research has advantages such as safety, environmental friendliness, economy, speed of construction and the ability to excavate at a later date. In future RMSM may replace traditional backfill materials and change the scope of application of earth materials.
