The intelligent living space often requires a number of smart robots to respond to changes of environment. The motion of robots usually depends on the electric motors. However, the electric motors generally occupy too much space inside the robot. This paper presents a compact design of the mobile robot for intelligent living space, in which the piezoelectric actuator is employed to provide thrust force for the required movement.
