Digital control of a sampled-data system using digitally redesigned dual-rate controllers

Abstract

This paper presents new digitally redesigned dual-rate controllers for digital control of sampled-data systems. By suboptimally selecting the dual-rate sampling and using the concept of the principle of equivalent areas, the digitally redesigned control gains can be evaluated from the original analogue control gains, so that the resulting state responses of the digitally redesigned sampled-data systems are able to closely match those of the original analogously controlled continuous-time systems.
