Abstract

The dynamic behaviour of a sandwich beam with embedded internal resonators was studied. The dispersion curves and band gap structure of harmonic waves in the sandwich beam were investigated. It was found that the band gap could be shifted by the local resonance frequency of the resonator. It was demonstrated that pulses with frequencies near the resonance frequency of the internal resonators are suppressed in such a sandwich beam. .
