Abstract

Calcium phosphate cement (CPC) was fabricated using the TTCP and DCPA powders. The two powders were mixed in 1M phosphate hardening solution (H3PO4) with pH of 5.6 and liquid/powder ratio of 0.4 ml/gm. To study the effect of heat treatment on working/setting time and compressive strength, set CPC samples were heat-treated in an air furnace. A series of heat treatment temperatures and times were selected for the study. The effect of heat treatment was determined via x-ray diffraction (XRD).
