Abstract
Predictions for confined diffusion flames are made by use of two types of PDF: beta function and double delta function. Effect of turbulence decomposition methods on flame predictions is also studied by way of these two PDF's. The study shows the predictions with beta-type PDF are less sensitive to the averaging method than the predictions with double-delta-type PDF. However, without the complete measured information in the inlet plane, it is hard to assess the superiority between these two PDF's. More well-defined experiments are required for the further work of model validation.
