Abstract
A New Reynolds equations by using Winer's viscoplastic model to express the non-Newtonian fluid property, is derived for line-contact elastohydrodynamic (EHL) problems. The numerical scheme developed by Houport and Hamrock is slightly modified to suit the non-Newtonian fluids. The results are presented for isothermal lubrication, to observe the influence of non-Newtonian fluid on pressure distribution, film thickness, shear stress and the mass flow rate.
